Strange tape where the spare tyre is kept
Hello guys/girls,
I have bought a toyota yaris/vitz 2006 and in my inspection, I noticed some strange tape (the red arrow) where the spare tyre is kept Can anyone tell me what this it?? its very strange and does not seem to have been installed correctly too. |

not tape, it is glue (or silicone) its a cheaper way of building a car (vs welding the body together) they clame it is jsut as strong as welding

I'm fairly sure that's just seam sealer, the car is still welded together. The sealer finished the job making it 'element-tight'.

LOL. Of course the Yaris is not glued together.
 It is just a seal. My brandnew Yaris had that too. Any Yaris has. Don't panic. |

That is, indeed, just sealer wear the body members are joined together.
