Exhaust pipe destroyed
So I was driving in Ottawa at night, a city i'm not familiar with, when I didn't notice a dip in the road where they were redoing the asphalt. The car went over the dip hard, resulting in my exhaust pipe being ripped apart where it connects to the muffler.
Thank goodness I have a CAA membership, they towed my car on a flatbed 196 km back to Kingston (where I live).    I've wanted for some time to get a new performance exhaust. I guess this would be the right time to do it. |

Wow that's a lot of damage! Check with the local DOT just to see if they might be willing to cover some of your damage cost, especially if there was not proper signs warning of the un-even pavement!!

Yep, I'd just about drive with an open exhaust over slicks... but exhaust fumes can be just as deadly. Fix the exhaust, and don't drive in the rain until the tires are replaced.... don't pay extra for a performance exhaust and then skimp on tires. Both are musts!

All very good points.
Going to get a quote in the next day or so. Hopefully I can find a place that can do the repair, install new tires, and do a wheel alignment. Ill post a update when I get the quote. |

So the entire exhaust system needed to be replaced. I guess the impact was so hard that it disconnected the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
So an entire new exhaust, wheel alignment, and NEW TIRES = 2500$ :( |

I guess depending on your tires, but 2500 seems a bit steep. Maybe canadian dollars are not worth as much, I have not checked the exchange rate lately. I would think 1000 american dollars should cover everything.

Why not order a new exhaust and install it yourself? Then find the cheapest place for tires

I have a stock axle back with less than 1500 miles on it I'd totally send to you for cheap! Depending on your route and what you want, pm me. and if someone decides they want to ship a custom mid pipe, I'll have a stock mid pipe i could send too!

You can install exhaust by yourself but if you go any reputed car care center so they will also install but first check your budget and then decide for further action.
