Test Drive : New 2018 Hyundai Accent w/auto .

The car handled and rode well with very little cabin noise from outside . The interior seems tight with no rattles . Top speed was 60 with 60%( Hwy.) /40% ( (City) and 2 people . The car had 15 miles total and 24 or so for overall m.p.g. before the drive . Drove 24 miles and managed 44.3 m.p.g.. Tranny shifts smooth . Did use A/C for short period when at a few red lights . The car is a Linen Beige ( light brown ) SE at $17,155 before rebate / dealer discount . Definitely considering this car .

I've test driven the Hyundai Tucson, Kona, Ioniq, Elantra, and Elantra GT.

I found all of them to be handsome, and have very good fit, finish, and paint quality. Interiors were nicely laid out and materials were better than most. Driving characteristics were surprisingly good, and cabin noise was subdued. All seemed like very decent cars during the test drive.

Nevertheless, Hyundai still puts me off a bit; forums indicate that the dealer service experience is much worse than average, and many cars seem to suffer a broad range of failures.

Hyundai I30 N is top 2 and 3 in every hot hatch comparison reviews on track it scores low because it lacks the power of the Type R civic and Ford Focus. It's on normal real world roads that it shines. There is also volester N and an 130 fastback N. The only thing i don't like about it is it's FWD.So let's hope they bring out some rwd and awd sports cars.

I sat in the Veloster N at the NAIAS, and I'm still considering it. My family and I have owned, 95 Accent, 95 Elantra, 97 Tiburon, 99 Tiburon, 2013 Elantra, and 14 Kia Forte(not quite Hyundai but similar). And we loved them all except the 99 Tiburon which was a lemon...Their cars are pretty good for the price not doubt.

In Europe its a Dual clutch 7 speed like VW, But might without all the problems there is with the VW 7 speed Dual clutch with dry clutch.

I feel Hyundai/Kia is offering so much more these days. They remind me alot of previous generation Toyotas...but with actual performance options (like the elantra turbo sedans)

Nothing in the current Yota line up attracts me other then the Avalon. But Ill never have that kind of money.

If I had to buy a brand new car (say if my Yaris was totaled) id be looking at the new Fit or Accord and pretty much the Koreans.

I love driving my wifes 18 Fit cvt. It sticks very well and has great manners. And gets 43mpg average pretty easy (im sure I can creep up to 50 if I tried and drove all highway). Cant beat that for a mini-minivan.

However realistically Ill stick with older Yotas

Bought it . This is 70 miles on dealer filled tank . Started at 41 total miles from lot with the 2 of us . Average speed of 38 M.P.H.. Will possibly post more pics . Impressed with gas mileage . Hope the display will be close to the calculated m.p.g. overall . I accidentally reset the Overall Gas Mileage , not fimiliar with it . . Will average out the the 2 when time for a fill .

Congrats! Unlike Toyota, Hyundai certainly knows how to design handsome cars. I'll be looking forward to your comments and reviews.

Btw, does the Hyundai replace your Yaris or Fit?

Went on a weekend trip to New Castle staying at Mercure Hotel and parked the KIA Sportage right in the middle of two hatches . A red Mazda 3 on the left and a white Hyundai I30 onthe right. Hyundai 130 really looks good.

Here's the latest for the display . Did reach 50.4 at one time . Read that it can be off by .6 > 3 M.P.G.. This is 2 people for entire miles . Plan to fill it later .

Filled tank . 43.55 M.P.G. on the dealer filled tank . That included A/C about 1/3 of time and 2 of us the whole tank . Hope the gap between the overall gas mileage DISPLAY and the CALCULATED get closer . Filled it with summer blend (?) Top Tier SUNOCO 89 w/E5 at 1 click .
