2 subs in yaris is loud

so i installed my two 10s with a box in my yaris the other day. i've adjusted my equalizer as well. i gotta say, this thing is BANGING!! what i mean is that the bass doesn't knock, it's just full of bass lol and you can't really hear much of the music either. but, of course this was just a temporary installment to see what kind of subs and amps i could throw in this hatchback/liftback w/e.
i'd like some of your guy's feed back on what you've installed to make it sound good without the massive bass blowing behind me.

2 punch 10 inch subs and a 800 watt kenwood amp(got it like 6 years ago)

I can't wait to hookup my subs, i still have to get an aftermarket cd play.er and tweeters and it will be ready to go. Sounds like you need tweeters too. Mine will be in my trunk tho, hope it bangs. I have 2to 10' subs and a lil mtx amp

What you're hearing is a peak in response of the enclosure. You're probably hearing it at 60-80 Hz.

What does you EQ allow you to adjust in the way of frequencies?

lmao! to be honest, i dont know anything about car audio stuff...only on car performance lol. so, i had my brother (who is into that car audio stuff) check the eq. he did adjust it, and by any means idk what he was talking about. but my sound system did sound a lot better. as much as i know the trebel is clear, the bass hits hard but not too loud. he also mentions that i DO need tweeters. hatchback produces more bass i guess.

i believe that it is on -5. base level is set from -12 to +12. less bass on eq, more noise i can hear.

Well... If there's no more adjustment on the head unit in the way of specific frequency numbers then what I would say it this point is if your base is adjusted all the way down already I would go for the gain on the amplifier and turn it down.

Specifically asking your settings on the amp. It'll say Gain/Level. Bass Boost. LPF . HPF.

Bass boost usually peaks at the 45Hz range and thats where the prefabs are usually tuned too so thats why it's getting boomy and not musical.

Turn Bass boost off. If you're getting "noise" check your Ground connections.

To take S7V7N's statement a little further, you can also look at your crossover section on the amplifier.

Actually...take a pic of that section of the amplifier and post it up so we can see it.

Rolling my eyes at some of these comments though...

I tossed a couple subs in my chi-mo van! Now I gawtz deebeez!

When I crank my $hit...the women take off their clothes!
