Yaris 2 door Hatchback Thule roof rack question

I am installing a roof rack on my 2008 2 door hatchback in order to carry heavy downhill bikes. Thule has two options on their fit guide:

Option 1:
400xt footpack
2196 fitkit
lb50 loadbars
477 short roof adapter - this spreads the loadbars further apart to stabilize loads.

Option 2.:
400xtr footpack
2196 fitkit
arb43 aeroblades

There is no short roof adapter in option 2. The aeroblade bars would be awfully close and potentially unstable. Is there a way to use adapters and install the 477 short roof adapter with the aeroblades?

thanks

Well if the short roof adapter is made for square bars then it will most likely not fit the aero bars as they are drastically different. Check Thule's website they have like a build your kit option so you can draw up your set up.

I would also recommend you get a fairing or the wind noise will be annoying.

Neither - the best choice is the Thule 60" top tracks. Most people have them put on by professional shops such as Rack Attack. But I did the install myself and it is not that difficult.

The custom build is a bit pricey and I only plan to use the car for 1-2 years max.

A rack distributor has insisted he can get the 477 SRA and Aeroblades to work together.

I will look into buying a fairing. When the bikes are loaded doesnt that create a ton of noise anyway? I will almost always be transporting bikes.

Thats why you need the fairing to kill that noise ^
