Just wondering if there are some disadvantages on painting the interiors or the "after-effect" once your car is parked under the sun for a long period of time. Have read some topics about the paints giving off poisonous gases? Well Im planning on painting my door panel trims just to match my instrument panel trim and I'm worried about this kind of issues. Any thoughts?

I recently went over a lot of my interior pieces with RUstoleum truck bed rubber spray. a day later, all fumes were gone. there's nothing different to painting the inside of the car than anything else. once the solvents in the paint completely evaporate (usually a few days) there is nothing poisonous left.

I removed the silver dash center pieces and had a body shop match my body color which they painted with a gloss finish like on the XD's dash. Looks factory and the gloss is no shinier than the wood trim in many cars. Thanks to the ideas on this thread my dash really looks good. I added painted 3" rings to the outer air vents and to my automatic shifter plate. People on this site come up with the greatest ideas.

Up from the dead...
I'd like to make that silver/grey match the rest of the dash. Has anyone else found a paint and finish that comes close? Would also like to do the light parts of the door armrests too. |

I painted my panels in the Summer of last year and it gets up to 120 here in Vegas. I have not had any issues with my panels thus far; however, after painting them, make sure they cure for a few days. If you don't, there will be cracking of the paint.
