This is all the materials I had to work with lol. Ill figure something out maybe next weekend. Maybe shove it in without zip ties then use those long thick zip ties to go around it like an x shape to hold it in sealed.

I gottcha, nothing beats the zip tie X, saved my ass more times than I can count haha. Glad you got it to work, nothing worse than not being able to use something you spent hard earned dollars on.

If you want to get a mod and actually feel a slight difference go with exhaust headers, you'll feel that more than the CAI.
I went with just the TRD cat back and feel a little more somethin something with the butt dyno. Has me lookin fer more.
DC has one on Amazon for 257.97 currently.
It's in my wish list.

Anyone think of or do either a redneck ram air / mini hood scoop or poke a hole in unused radiator area or flip fresh air tube upside down with any success ?

Nope drove for 15 min in rain and it stalled. Gonna pull the intake and plugs in 2.5 hours when my friend gets off and crank it for 20 sec

No way the rain caused that, unless the filter is located in an area where water collects from the cars in front of you.

I've had mine installed for about 2 months or so and have had zero issues in torrential downpours driving behind trucks. That said my intake places my filter just behind/under the left headlight

I've had mine in this location for years driving in flooded Miami. I'm talking water that went up to the bottom of my door. Had a few close calls but never any major issues. I did however cut my down so it's a short ram now. Peace of mind thing...Maybe your MAF went haywire since it's not bolted to the intake? Could have got a leak there.

Whoops forgot to follow up. Yaris is back up and running. Pulled the plugs they were a little wet at the tips I cranked it for 25 seconds and bolted everything back. First start was only cranking. Second start was 2 sputters and some pops. Third start I gave it a ton of gas while it sputtered and she fired right up. Burnt up the water in about a minute with white smoke and a nasty smell then she was ready to roll the next 60 miles with zero issues! She's a trooper!

cool, that used to be the way to de-carbon the engine (water)
no way I could have that set up in the low country, as I at times, drive thru water deeper than that.
I was thinking more along the lines of a mini hood scoop, but won't chase that tail as yet, werkin on exhaust flow first, minus the spacer I ordered for TB
glad ya got yer Yar goin

I gave up on my intake couldn't get nothing to work and after hacking it up and grinding/filing it. Definitely non-returnable now LOL I did go with a k&n drop in filter and gonna do the airbox mod. See how that works out for me

Did any of you all seen a increase in mpg with these CAI's? I thought about getting one as well but I'm on the fence with any mods besides upgrading the stereo.

Yes you do gain some mileage with a CAI. As long as you don't drive more aggressively to hear the intake growl.
