argh

Installed my $160 nordskog yesterday (thanks again leenis)

Digital readout wasn't as bright as I'd hoped but it still looked cool as hell, and actually worked!!!

...for a while.

After about 10 minutes of driving I noticed the readout going nuts (picture slot machine) between 2600 and 3000 rpms

Figured I'd leave it in for the drive to work the next day, but did the same thing! Worked just fine for like 10 mins. then slot machine
Thank jeebus I didn't drill the mounting holes before testing it out.

So I picked up a cheapy sunpro tach ($45) at pep boys on the way home, and it works fine

Guess you don't always get what you pay for!

Now I have to find someplace to hookup the illumination wire (poop!) and ship the nordskog back to cali

I'll post pics of the sunpro when it's thoroughly tested and mounted.

well i've got my tach installed, but not mounted... i had ordered a universal a-pillar pod, and it arrived today smashed to bits, so i'm trying to either get my money back or rma it... anyway, it looks great...i went ahead with the glow shift 2-1/16" gauge like this
there is a color that matched the stock liftback gauge perfectly... will post pics once it's mounted

Dag, I'm a stickler for matching parts and I have to say the glow shift gauge looks pretty close to the stock speedo. I'm starting to get interested in this bad'bwoy

But what does it look like during the day? That's one thing I really didn't like about the nordskog; it wasn't very bright with the sun out.

Also, which wire did you use for illumination???

Thanks in advance and good job

it's a little hard to see when it's bright out, but i plan on tinting the windows so that should take care of that... and there is no illum wire, there is the tach, ground, 12v constant, and 12v ignition(switched)... the gauge itself is tinted so that it's black when it's off, so when you turn the car on it lights up automatically whether it's night or day so you can see it
