How much would it cost to get my car re-painted from Meteorite Metallic
To Black Sand Pearl? Just wondering for shits and giggles Thanks in advance |

I've heard that good paint jobs can cost up to 2k. Of course I don't know what that would consist of, I think I heard that estimate including racing stripes or something, so it might be a bit less.

that's an extremely hard figure to put a handle on...one could easily spend $0-$10,000 depending on who you know or who you'd have do it.

A good paint job would be at least $600 starting price (exterior + all door jams), but you can bargain too. I got the dings and scratches from my 2nd car with total repaint included for only $350, and that was because I ran back and forth between 2 competing places a few times. It was kinda tiring, but the price dropped from $625, so it was worth it.
BTW if you're looking to get the engine bay repainted too, then like Luna says, you're looking at shelling out 2K, maybe more. As long as there's very little or no damage to the paint and body, I would personally keep things the way they are. Besides, even though I also wanted a black Yaris originally (didn't pick that one because dealer wanted more $$ for less features), the current color looks very nice too IMO.

If you really wanted to, I could paint your car into my personal paint. I call it, "I'll sand w/e part randomly,"

I may shop around originally I was set on Black. When the 2009's came in they had one in meteorite. that had all the bells and whistles. This was the middle of October. and the sales guy told me they could not get a black yaris in atleast until january. I don't mind the color but If I could get it re-painted. at a descent cost its somthing I may look into.

Cheaper that the paint job is to trade the car.

I wasn't sure that my dealer was going to be able to get the color I wanted, so I talked to my cousin, who owns a very reputable body shop. His take was to wait for the color I wanted, as he said to do it "correctly" would run over $5K. "Correctly" invovled prepping every to-be-painted surface and an unbelievable amount of masking, both of which take many hours of labor... |

Trust me, you don't want a sub $1500 paint job. Unless you have a relative that's a body man. My uncle have his own shop and with the family discount it cost me
$1000 to repaint my Tacoma. |

How much you pay for a paint-over is almost directionally proportional to the quality of the job.

I've been told by different Toyota dealers before when I asked about repainting a Camry I had, that the new paint job will never be as good or durable as the factory paint job because of the electical charge that the factory uses in the process to bond the paint to the body, besides it all being computerized. Instead of little chips on the front from rocks you would have big flakes comming off instead... If it were me I wouldn't chance it with a new car.

Well the factory paint is not very high quality so you can definetly get better paint jobs, but they aren't cheap and to me it wouldn't be worth it.
