Unhappy Bye bye Vitz sadly....

Hey all.

Sorry to say I have parted with my Vitz RS. Some of you may know from my other posts I had a crash. I will explain a bit more in detail what happened.

Earlier this year I lost control of my Vitz due to heavy rain and one bad tyre. Ended up swerving all over the road avoided other cars but crashed into a concrete planter box.

Damage didnt look too bad so I thought lets get it fixed. ALso I had only 3rd party insurance. I made the big mistake of trusting my brother in law (who is a car dealer and knows body shops etc) to arrange for the repair. Car got repaired and looked okay, though later on things didnt feel right. Firstly the bumper fitting and bonnet looked off, so took at back to the body shop they made lot of excuses and etc.

Later on I got electrical probs. Car would not start, sometimes it starts and shuts off straight away and ABS malfunctions. So i took it to Toyota to do some diagnostics. I got bad news:
-Front rails bent
-Engine is not aligned properly anymore
-water pump pulley bent and very close to frame
-Few electrical wires just cut and taped over

I was furious. basically, the body shop did a superficial repair. Further more, my bro n law and that body shop (i found out later) are tax evading by paying cash and no receipts . I specifically asked him for a recipt so if they did do something dodgy I can take them to court under the consumer guarantees act. Anyway long story short, few arguments with family and lot of complications, I had to accept the loss (I still haven't fully gotten over it) and I decided to scrap the car as proper repair would cost about 60% of the value of the car.

I've moved on since then, and decided to buy something with Traction control and something that's a bit more relaxed to drive than the RS.
I now have a Toyota Blade (pics below).

I will always remember my Vitz RS. It has been the best handling car I've owned. The first car I purchased in NZ. Many great memories and many great projects on the car and learned alot. Unfortunately I guess I won;t be coming much to the forums anymore but I will drop by from time to time.
