Question Toyota Emblems?

Hello guys,

Browsing around I found this GT86 and I noticed the emblems had been replaced. Anyone know where they came from?

Thanks.

Search for Pete39sp on instagram. He custom makes badges including the one you posted.

That's the, currently very popular, TEQ sticker/badge, right?

That's what people call it, but it's the original Toyota symbol you would find all over older Toyotas. :)

It spells out Toyota in Katakana.

The "t" is TO
The reverse E is YO
The "q" is TA

Yep to both of you lol.

I'm kicking myself for not picking up one of the nice ones they were selling at Toyotafest.

Toyota: トヨタ

Toyota founder, Kiichiro Toyoda, decided on a katakana name, and changed the last syllable from a “da” to a “ta”. This eliminated two trailing brush strokes when writing the name, giving it better visual balance and an auspicious eight-stroke count.

Thanks guys, I found some on eBay but they dont look big enough to be used as grill and back emblems.

The ones Pete39sp makes look pretty solid.

So driving em gets you "going Japanese-O."
(that is in chorus to what was once a top 40 song.)

Interesting bit of trivia; I can't call it. If others don't, you must tell.

I know it! The Vapors - Turning Japanese (1980).

Songwriter David Fenton explained: "Turning Japanese is all the clichés about angst and youth and turning into something you didn't expect to."

Actually "Turning Japanese" is (or was) British slang for masturbation. Listen to the lyrics again.

" "Turning Japanese" was believed to euphemistically refer to masturbation, although Fenton (the song's author) denied that claim in an interview on VH1. He did, however, say he wished to thank whoever first came up with that interpretation, as he felt that the salacious rumour about what the song "really" meant may have been what made it a hit."

Hmmm... I wonder about that.
