Door lock problem
Hello
I have a 2004 Yaris d4d. Recently the drivers door won't lock while using the remote locking or the button on the door from inside. Sometimes it unlocks with the remote. Mostly now it just won't work. I have to use the key which still unlocks and locks all doors. I have no idea how to even try and get the panel off to have a look I tried and almost broke something. Help please. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Different model year, but it can't be that much different:

Also I have the same issue on a 2010 yaris. My research pointed to a faulty lock actuator on that side.
Pull the door panels, and you can either get away with cleaning contacts, etc, or just replace the unit http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44694 |

How do I get the actual lock actuator out now I removed the panel?

My rear passenger door has the same problem.
Q. If you cycle the door lock back and forth does it eventually work? mine works, but only after a few tries. If I'm locking the car, I make sure to hit the lock button, either on the door, or the remote a few times to make sure the all the door actually lock. If, you're having trouble, it might be best to replace it. I think the striker/latch and power actuator are all one unit. |

there are a few videos showing this for different toyota models, and damn its involved.
I havent actually found a model to replace the actual motor itself with, but the entire actuator unit is around on amazon, ebay, etc. The motors should be fairly generic, but you need specs EDIT: research has shown the motor you need is more then likely this: http://www.amazon.com/Central-Actuat.../dp/B00BYD0QVK Last edited by ercdvs; 04-12-2016 at 03:24 PM. It's very difficult t remove. I undone everything I could see attached to it and it's still being held in place by something. Looks like I'll have to take it in to the garage
