TPMS light on after swapping 1 tire from different car

So I swapped a tire from a 2007 Yaris and put it on my 09 and I have the TPMS light come on. The tire pressure looks fine but I think the TPMS serials do not match. Is it possible to reset the TPMS with a different serial on one tire? if so how should i go about this?

Thanks :)

nope. you need the tpms tool from the dealer.

maybe a tire shop can help you but idk. they'll probably charge you. it's a $900 tool. i thought about gettin one but not for that money. the new sensor has to be 'programmed' to the car.

Thanx

Thanks for the info

So I was shown at the tire shop that the wheel I swapped didn't have a TPMS sensor and said he could order one and have it installed and synced for $100 so I told him ok. Figured it was the best price I was gonna get at a tire shop. Kinda steep but that's what I get. This was the second place I went to too. The 1st place seemed puzzled and said it would be $125 minimum and would take about a half day. hmmmmm

Anyways, thank you for your help. Any more advice on a cheaper way to fix this would be apreciated.

That thread shows how to just bypass it completely, which is the cheapest way of doing it, especially if you keep up on your own maintenance and are able to check your own tire pressure from time to time.
