Wow! Almost 2k in damages . . . . .yeaahhhhhh . . . I'm going to be keeping my collision insurance. lol Since I paid for my car in full, I'm not required to have full coverage, but it seems completely necessary for our cars!

Reminds me of the time I was driving a rented neon (rented because my car was in the shop) and suddenly there was pile of sand on my side of the street up to the hood and blocking most of my lane. I jerked the wheel to the left but sand all over the street made the car start to slide sideways to the right towards the sand. I whipped it back to the right, and kicked the tail out into the opposing lane and slid the car around the pile with the nose of the car facing the pile. By then I had slowed down enough to turn back to the left and straighten the car out in my lane. It was like some full on rally racing shit (at like 40mph tho ). I was like proud of myself for avoiding the accident, but freaked out too, because I wasn't quite sure how the hell I did it! lol

I ran over a fire hose once in my AE86. Interesting ride to say the least. I don't know how things work in SC, but in CA you can put a damages claim to CalTrans, if you feel that the damages occurred because they didn't keep the road clean. I've never heard of someone putting in a claim but the option is there.
