passenger weight

Wife wants to load up the car with 5 people and go for a 200 mile round trip was wondering about combined weight and safety.
2 400 pounders
3 150 pounders
plus weight of one days shopping est;100lbs..

The rated maximum is only about 850lbs. If you are lowered (or even possibly if you are not), I would expect some serious rubbing with the big two in the back seat.

I'm a big guy too, but can you physically fit all 5 people and 100 lbs of stuff in a yaris? Watch the tires on any big bumps! I would think that much weight would exceed the tires' max load.

At my suggestion that that much weight could pose some safety issues she cancelled the trip, so to start the New Year i am in the dog house

Why ruin your car for a bunch of free-loaders.
Rent a mini-van. Split 5 ways it would cost next to nothing. And be comfy and safe too!

You aren't fitting 5 people in a yaris when 2 off them are 400lbs.
And if you do, that's going to be the most uncomfortable drive of all time.

I'd definitely have a few loud chuckles if one or two of them got really farty.

Even if your Yaris is the 2015 model , i don't advice you to let her take all the 5 people + the baggage. let's be honest and logic, the Yaris can load only the driver and 2 other people + the baggage if you wants a nice and calm trip without problems.

Hope they have a nice trip.
