Advice on Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD instalation!!

Hello....

I have a 2006 Yaris Spirit with a factory fitted cd player (Silver one that is build into the dash) and i was wondering if it can be possible to convert that to a Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD?? If someone have pics that would be awsome!

Thanx alot for your time!

hey thanks alot! For those that have Navi installed.

I'm getting my Avic d3 in this week and was looking over the installation manual and the only questions i have are:

1. What wire did you spice into for the vehicle speed sensor wire?

2. did you actually hook up the reverse wire?

3. i was reading someones install and to do the bypass (get dvds and change destination while moving) you have to ground out the e break wire. is this true.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Someone should do a write up for DIY for navi systems

For those who want the double din dash kit, go to Metra's website (www.metraonline.com) and use their vehicle drop-down menus to find their dash kits for the Yaris.

you do not need the speed sense wire. the unit will do hybrid learning and will calibrate itself using the gps. the reverse wire is not needed unless you add a backup camera. and for the bypass most pioneers need software updates to override do to the built in gyro sensor. on my avic-z2 its shuts off controls at 10 or 15 mph. but all you have to do is take green wire which is ebrake wire on pioneer unit run that to a basic toggle switch and then take the other side of toggle to ground anywhere in car and then you flip switch unit thinks break is on. hope this helps

if you do that way it will lock you out the correct way to do it since i own a d3 was to pull the mute wire outta the harness along with the metal tab and move it to the pin above and ground that wire and the parking brake wire. you cant use the old toggle switch trick cause as soon as it senses movement it will lock the menu out or shut the screen down theres an actually thing on avic411.com to do the bypass for all the avics they come out with
