WHAT'S 4-WHEELED, COLORFUL AND READ ALL OVER?
THE TOYOTA "YARIS COMIC-CAR" -- FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND PROMOTION

TO BE LAUNCHED BY G4, TOYOTA AND IMAGE COMICS AT COMIC-CON

A New Toyota Yaris, On Display Exclusively at the G4 Booth,
Will Be Painted From Grill to Bumper with Panels from the FEAR AGENT Comic

Los Angeles and Berkeley, CA – July 18, 2006 – G4, the go-to network for men ages 18–34 and the fastest-growing television network for 2006, announced today a partnership with Toyota and with Image Comics on a first-of-its-kind event: turning a car into a comic book. The Toyota “Yaris Comic-Car,” entirely painted with the art and storyline from the first issue of “FEAR AGENT,” will be on display exclusively at the G4 booth during the entire length of Comic-Con 2006. Comic-Con, the launching pad for the biggest comics and the most anticipated sci-fi, action and horror films of the upcoming year, will be held July 20-23 at the San Diego Convention Center. Yaris—a car that brings great design to the subcompact category—is intended to bring a splash of youth to the Toyota brand by targeting approximately 30% of its sales at consumers younger than 30 years old.

The FEAR AGENT comic book art will be “wrapped” around the Yaris, covering every inch, inviting Comic-Con attendees to tour the entire car to read each panel of FEAR AGENT #1. Among the exclusive “Comic-Car” events that will be held at the G4 booth:

* FEAR AGENT writer/co-creator Rick Remender and artist/co-creator Tony Moore will be present at G4’s Comic-Con booth on Saturday, July 22, to sign autographs, while promoting the very first FEAR AGENT trade paperback – a compilation of the first four issues in one book.

* The first 1000 fans who come to the G4 booth between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm Saturday, July 22, and sign a Yaris FEAR AGENT Fan Card will get a FEAR AGENT trade paperback to be autographed by the authors.

* Toyota is creating a limited edition “Yaris FEAR AGENT trading card” featuring never-before-released artwork from FEAR AGENT #9 on the front, and Yaris images and specifications on the back. The G4 booth will be the only location where these trading cards will be available, offering fans their first exclusive look at the FEAR AGENT #9 artwork. The “Yaris Comic-Car” will also be featured prominently in G4’s ATTACK OF THE SHOW coverage of Comic-Con. ATTACK OF THE SHOW, which has covered Comic-Con since 2003 and is hosted by Kevin Pereira and Olivia Munn, will be dramatically ramping up its coverage in 2006 with a special live two-hour broadcast from the convention floor on Friday July 21. In addition, G4 is creating two one-hour specials, airing Monday, July 24 and Tuesday, July 25, that will feature all the standout moments from the four-day convention.

FEAR AGENT, a sci-fi adventure comic, chronicles Heath Huston, a down-and-out alien exterminator, who stumbles upon an extraterrestrial legion of Amoebas preparing to annihilate the Earth. This revelation forces him to choose between the bottle and resuming his role as peacekeeper, as the last Fear Agent.

The G4 website, g4tv.com, will feature eight Yaris mobile-episodes (mobisodes) as part of its podcast and broadband content from Comic-Con. The Yaris mobisodes also will be featured on the on-site monitors at the G4 booth at Comic-Con.

Very original concept!! I was thinking along the same lines, though I was gonna get my favorite cartoon/anime characters printed out on vinyl stickers so I can change them up from time to time...

they REALLY should've put some rims on it..though that might have been Counter-productive on a car that cries for attention to the "paint scheme".

Maybe some rims that are thematic to the Fear Agent comic..or somethin'

I saw it in person at the Comic Con. It's cute and the it's the first time I've been that close to a Yaris Liftback in person.
