Angry Backseat won't stay on!!! Help!

I checked it out and there are plastic clips in the holes where the hooks at the bottom of the backseat are supposed to go into. Unfortunately, the clips don't seem to do anything anymore.

I put the seatbelt clips through the holes of the backseat but that isn't enough to keep it on.

Unless somebody posts a good solution to this irritating problem, I won't have much choice but to remove the clips by force and use heavy-duty plastic ties to keep the seat from moving.

I remove my backseat about once a month, and have been doing so for 4 years. (I swap it with a plywood deck to hold more cargo). Those two big plastic clips are a little chewed up, but still hold just fine. I'm curious what you're doing to the backseat to make it wear out so fast.
