What oil do you guys use?

Like the title suggests, what do you guys run? Need to take it for an oil change sometime. I figured Pennzoil Platinum 5w20/30, since I figure Ultra might be an overkill for this engine, or Mobil 1 0/5w20/30. I run it for about 6-7k miles per year with 95% of my trips city and <5 miles. Thanks guys

Also might mention that I'm running on a fill of Maxlife, the car has about 89500 miles or so.

IMO for a DD, just use a qualty 5w-30 oil. I will get some flack for this but there is very little difference between major brands for their quality oils Don't believe the advertising hype . The key work here is "quality" oils.

BTW the "high mileage" oils siimply add some additional detergents to remove sludge. However it you change you oil regularly, there will not be any sludge to begin with .

Shell synthetic 5w-30 and 5w-20 . Here are some used oil analysises of the Shell synthetics from the '08 sedan . http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38135 . Can get it for under $3.50 a quart ( includes tax ) . Here's another recent U.O.A. of Shell synthetic 5w-30 run to 12,000 miles in a '08 Prius , http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...00#Post2694100 . Using the Platinum 0w-20 in the '11 FIT and it seems to like it . Use the Platinum 10w-30 and SHELL syn for the mowers and snowblower . The riding mower gets the 10w-30 Plat.. Then there are 3 push mowers . The Shell syn 5w-30 in 2 that are B.& S.. The 10w-30 Plat. in a Honda mower . The snow blower has Shell 5w-30 syn . Very little to no consumption of it . Depends on the mower . Also use the Platinum 10w-30 in a generator . Have faith in S.O.P.O.S. products for many years .

Castrol 5W-30. I will have to agree with RedRide. Any quality oil should work well. I have always used Castrol, so it is more of a habit than anything else.

Come to think of it, I need to change my oil.

The cheapest namebrand synthetic 5w-30 I can find on sale - usually $25 for around 4.4 - 4.7L up here in Canda.
Sometimes it's Mobil 1, but usually it's Castrol Syntec or Pennzoil Platinum.

Toyota 5W30 from my dealer ... yes I know I am not mechanically inclined and wouldn't even think about changing my own oil. I know how to check it ... that's about as far as I will go.

I change mine every 10k with Castrol Syntec 0w-30 European Blend. About $6/qt at Auto Zone, never had any problems.
