What is that chirping noise I hear . . .

every time I lift my foot from the brake pedal? Been hearing it for about 1.5 years now. No grinding from the disks or drums just this loud chirping/squeak sound. Driving me bonkers.

some pads tend to do that over time, maybe it's a good time to install some NAPA Safety Stop ceramic brake pads.

I'm having the same issue and noticed it's coming from my rear drum brakes. When I lift my foot off the brake I get the chirp. Brakes are working fine but I haven't inspected the rear drums yet.

What should I look for?

That happens when the rear brake pads need changing do the front as well to just get it over with instead of leaving it for the next day do it all at once, in MI they have both brake pads at a good price good luck guys

if the shoes still have plenty of surface on them it could be a couple of things, shoes could be glazed over or where the metal part of the brake shoe contacts the backing plate may needs a little high temp grease on it.
