January 2010 Yaris Sales

The first month of January is in the books.

Yaris sales were down 10.3% compared to 1/09. The question is, of course, was that effected by the recall (even though the Yaris wasn't part of it)?

Yaris sales have been lower, so I don't think this is too bad. Yaris was the third best-selling subcompact in 1/10.

1. Hyundai Accent 6,747
2. Nissan Versa 5,914
3. Toyota Yaris 3,676

The sales figures pretty much mirror price (at least here in Canada)

1. Hyundai Accent 6,747 Cheapest
2. Nissan Versa 5,914 Cheaper
3. Toyota Yaris 3,676 Cheap

To me, in this economy and in this segment the correlation makes sence to me.

The economy is down, and ALL sales are down for EVERYONE. The recall is hurting me right now as a salesman. It's not driving everyone away, but there are most certianly a lot of not well informed people out there that have the idea in their head that Toyota cars kill people. It takes a lot of explaining to get them to understand the truth, and even, then, they think we are saying that just because we work here and want a sale. Once this all clears, we will be back on track. Toyota put out some GREAT interest rates on almost ALL of their vehicles because of the recall, and are hoping to help jump start sales again.

I'm shocked (and pleased) to see it selling better than the Fit!

I see bigger TOYO rebates for YARIS in near future . Some regions have $1,000 for this month .

some dealers will match or better the TOYO cash incentive of a $1,000 . So , use recall to your advantage . If they won't cooperate , move on to another dealer .
