over the weekend we swapped a sedan cluster out for one with lesser mileage.(42k to 13k). swap was simple plug n play and new cluster worked like it was brand new. NO need to re-program or worry about old mileage staying with new cluster.

Wait a minute... I am so confused.

1. Rockland - I thought everyone said that sedan clusters don't fit liftbacks.

2. Gideon - you swapped out the clusters and you're saying that not only are they completely plug and play - but your mileage remained intact??

i'll be surprised it if all worked with no mods (tach and all)

but my thinking is that other markets had them, so maybe the wiring is the same?

i dont know, we'll find out next week i guess

How much did you end up paying for the cluster, if I may ask.

Yup. I'm glad the wrecking place let me try the cluster on. (they didn't actually know if the clock was broken though, so we were testing lol)

Another member has successfully swapped clusters. drifto actually has a Vitz cluster I think that he swapped into his with no troubles. He's got a pic in his garage.

The combo meter gets its tach input on the 24 pin connector at pin 16 (light blue wire). As long as that wire is present, the tach should work.
