hmmm, I'm too lazy to search, but I could have sworn there was one here and possibly in the MI forums too.

Oh hell. This is too much electrical for me :( I'm scared to death of electrical work, so I guess this is something I am going to have to get someone to do for me - this is where I tap out lol I thought it would be easier than that *sigh* Well, maybe I can get it done next weekend. :)

If you have a 2010, then it won't fit, due to the antenna coil for the transponder key.

Bring it down here and I'll hook it up for you if there's not someone closer.

SERIOUSLY?!?!? Ugh. I wish the site said that :( Does Garm know this? I know when I bought it, it didn't say it wouldn't fit the 2010 (I bought this with my badges the first week I got the 2010) so if it doesn't say that I'll let him know so he can add it to the page.

That was a waste of money :( Oh well, looks like it will be going on the for sale thread.

I don't remember when this discussion first happened, but I'm about 90% sure that someone tried it and it didn't fit since the ignition switch body is larger in diameter on the Yaris with the engine immobilizer.

Yeahhhh I see what you're saying, even with modification, it doesn't look like there is enough clearance for it. I guess this just sucks :(

Just to say I at least tried, I am going to go out and make sure that's the case. But since it's coming from you and you're 90% sure; I am already 99.9% I can trust that it won't fit LOL

It's actually on the last two pages of the DIY that Laz posted the link to; it doesn't fit. That sucks. I'm gonna ask Garm to put that up on the page so that no one else with the engine immobilizer buys it; it's only $39 - but that is almost 1/2 of what the foglights are, so I could have bought the foglights instead :P

Alright, so Scott said the difference between the ignitions was about 1mm - so I ran out, took the steering over off and tried it out; it didn't work. It is too small. *BUT*, do you think it's possible to snap off the piece surrounding the ignition and mount it somewhere else in the steering area and still have it work? Or does it *have* to be around the ignition itself for it to work as designed? I'm not sure really how that whole thing works, so it's a shot in the dark - but I figured I'd throw it out there.

Here's pictures of what it looks like:
