Dash Kit for LB

Hi,

Where can I find a kit other than online, ebay, etc.. I'm looking for a store that has them. I've called Best Buy, Circuit City, local stereo installers and no one has them..

Thanks!

I took mine out because I went to a double DIN setup. I think I have all the pieces.

I could sell you mine for like $15 shipped if you don't mind that it has been used for about a month.

PM me if you want it.

How did you fit a double din unit in the dash? I was under the impression that the space is 1.75 DIN high?

I actually had the integrated dash setup for my yaris and ended up buying the non integrated double din radio bezel for 90 dollars. I then bought a double din kit for a single din radio and then put one of those little compartments below it for the remote/crap I have laying around.

I havent put a double din in but from what I get you pull out the stock unit. Rape it of the bracket on the side. Bolt that to the new double din HU then bolt it back in. You will have a lil bit of gap on the sides but I think the top to bottom is spot on. Someone correct\verify me though.

That's exactly right.

Reuse the stock bracket, which you have even if you have the radio delete cover. I found that the stock bracket had "bumps" on the inside so I used an angle grinder to sand them off. There will be gaps on both sides, but if you had the radio deleted, then you probably have a black plastic cover for the empty hole.
What I did was take the plastic cover, and cut the sides off with a hacksaw, then glued them on the inside of the radio surround panel. It isn't perfect, but it was free and no more gap.

Also, the stock bracket is much stronger than the plastic shit from Scosche. We had one of their kits in our Echo, and we were rear ended.(it was written off) The deck popped out on impact. Good thing I didn't have the screen out!

Here- the first pic is how large the gaps will be. Yes, I know that the trim piece is upside down.

The second one is with the "hole-fillers" I custom made for $0.
