Need an AC expert
Ok, so here's my problem, I have a 2007 sedan and my ac will not start cooling for about 15 minutes after I start my car. After that, it cools fine. The compressor is not running during that time. The blower blows warm air, and then it just starts blowing cold air. Anyone have this problem?

Considering that you have an 07, do you ever see your alternator light flickering?
The AC Amplifier (which is the ECU for the A/C) controls the cycling of the compressor. There are many reasons why it would not turn on the compressor (including things like refrigerant volume or pressure issues), but the AC amplifier also gets a signal from the alternator that tells it that the alternator is running. This prevents the AC amplifier from running the compressor when it will kill the battery. There is a common problem with 07s (and a TSB for it) with the voltage regulator within the alternator becoming corroded. |
