QR Code Window Stickers

Hey guys,

Had an idea today. I've been playing around with QR codes for a while now and just got a crazy idea today. For those of you who don't know what QR codes are, they're a two-dimensional bar code that's capable of holding a much larger amount of information than your standard bar codes. There are tons of free applications for all types of phones to read them with only the use of the built-in camera.

Personally, I think QR codes look really awesome. I've even seen people have them tattooed. I was thinking of a window sticker/decal of a QR code that would contain the URL to Yarisworld.com When a QR code contains a URL, most QR code reader applications on phones will either automatically launch the site or at least ask the user if they want to launch the site.

Anyway, to the point of the post, I was wondering if these stickers were made up, if anyone would actually be interested in buying them. Mailing them out would be super cheap. I'll look around to where I can get them made and see about getting one done up to show how it would look.

It's all good bro! Anyway, the idea is cool, me personally, don't see a reason why I would it though. But I definitely respect those who would!

Even custom ones with a link to your Yarisworld profile would be neat :P

Here's the QR code for http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/

You can make your own text/URL/Vcard code at http://mobilecodes.nokia.com/create.jsp?terms=accepted

And QR codes are mostly used in Europe and Asia .. the predominant code in North America is a Datamatrix code ... though all cell phone code readers should handle both.

Definitely true and it's shitty for when you find them on products or in magazines and they're so tiny. I was thinking of a 4" x 4" window sticker in my back window which would be no problem for any phone if I were parked and someone was walking by.

EDIT: Also, I would most definitely put the actual URL in text underneath the code. This allows for anyone who doesn't have a QR code reader on their phone, or no phone, to get the advertisement as well.

Actually that's the datamatrix code. Click the link on the bottom left to generate a QR code.

The QR code for microimageonline.com is:

I have a freebie QR code reader for the iPhone that has worked 100% of the time with the QR codes. I wish more things would use them (like ads in magazines).

I've been playing around with QR codes for the past week - I even printed one on the back of my business card ;)

So in my internet readings - I hear that magazine ads in the UK use QR codes - since everyone else outside North America have phones 3 years ahead of what our cell phone cartels will give us.

Heh, I made this one up for irony. And I'll be the first one to proclaim that I am one of these.
