Hood Stand Has No Clip - What to Do?

Been going through my new Yaris getting acquainted and fixing modding things as I like. I got a major noise eliminated with my seat belt buzzing thread. Now to take care of the occasional rattle coming from the engine compartment.

As you can see the hood stand has no clip to secure it. It rests on the battery loose and is scratching it as I drive. Apart from the noise, having a loose metal rod in the engine just doesn't seem safe. What can I do? Can I get a clip(part number?) and where does it go in the engine compartment?

The clip is part of the battery hold down, which you are completely lacking.

I wonder if the 3rd Gen has the same issue the 2nd Gen does re the 'clamp/battery hold down' not fitting over some series 35 batteries. If so, perhaps the Kirkland from Costco is one such battery and the previous owner 'wanted what he/she wanted' re a battery and thus decided to go with it and leave the clamp off (). An inkling re how the car has been maintained.....? I hope not.

Oops. OP does have a 2nd Gen, not a 3rd Gen . I would think it is likely that the clamp/hold down was left off because the Kirkland is one of those Series 35s that the clamp/hold down won't fit oever

The first month I owned my car I kept hearing this strange rattling noise after the first time I opened my hood. Later I realized that the battery hold down was the good prop and that was what was making the noise

Can anyone post a photo? What I'm finding online just shows the bar nothing else for a Yaris OEM is $20 which seems steep for just a metal bar that doesn't include the j bolts or nuts.

Need to see what I need to start looking for. Thank you.

Just FYI , if the Kirkland is one of those Series 35 examples that the bar doesn't fit over (Wal-Mart is one such Series 35, and Sears has been in the past as well), then you wil have to bend/modify the bar to get it to fit over the battery.

The metal part with the plastic holder is: 74404-52080
The bolts are: 74451-52070
