aftermarket shiftknob on automatic?

anyone switch their stock knob from their automatic with an aftermarket one? im quite fond of the blox brand shift knobs considering i own 2 of the OG type R style ones both in my evo and del sol.

is there a specific thread pattern with the automatic?
thanks for any help my fellow automatic yaris brothers !!!

I put an OBX Speed Star shift knob on mine...

Looks cool but it's cold in the winter and hot in the summer.

And the knob on the auto is an M8x1.25 shaft (harder to find). It is a LOT smaller than the manual one (M12x1.25). Mine has an adapter.

Cheers! M2

I didn't, I just got the thread type and machined an extra long ( 12" ) extension. Then purchased a cheap skull shifter knob off ebay.

im thinking more in the lines of something like this for my car
http://www.bloxracing.com/bloxshop/i...product_id=422

the only problem is blox only has 3 different thread patterns and none fit the auto shifter yaris

Here is an idea I had but decided on using a delrin knob from Garm.....

he has thread adapter for the delrin knobs,it is threaded for the automatic stick and also has larger threads that fit the manual size that the Ti knob would be able to screw to....

I really think it would work.

its not too bad once you get used to it. I can proudly say I've only knocked it out of gear once.

I made this up yesterday.....it's the 14 ball, 'cz I'm twice as lucky as a 7
(actually, if I goofed up, I didn't want to do it with a 7 or 8 or cue....)

The thread pitch it 8 x 1.25 with a drill of 27/64 and 1/2 x 13 tap (I just drilled and two part epox'd the insert).
