Pauter rods are just as good and less expensive. CP pistons can be ordered any compression you want. I got 9.5:1

Nice to see more choices available for us now!

so for 1400 dollars you can buy just two parts necessary to build an engine that won't make as much power as a 4EFTE with 300 in mods... hmmm

swap=better bang for buck

I'd be willing to bet the crank can handle whatever the top end and the stroke can produce.

I'll be hunting for over 300 whp on the stock crank.

do you have more info on the prius piston setup jouna? We'd like to all hear more about it. The power it puts out, octane fuel, long-term reliability etc.

I haven't heard anyone (at least on here) who has actually done that yet. So Jouna's data may be the first we see on this.

What needs to be done to the pistons fro ma Prius to make them work with our motor? Anything? I really know nothing about internals....I know higher compression=more power with NA applications but thats the extent of my knowledge. I assume it wouldnt be a straight up swap ie: 1. pull out 1nz piston 2. "drop in" Prius piston 3. Drive away happy. Is this anywhere near a reasonable goal for a budget minded modder?
