CF Hood received!

I received my CF Hood today from Garm...according to him there are only 2 of these bad boys in North American. Brian, another member is the other person that has it. I will be installing soon if all goes well.

How does it install, if I might ask?

Never replaced a hood on any of my cars. Just bolts on?

Yup I do. I am arguing with the State of Maine on it right now...I went online and had my plates made. I even have my original order and told them they screwed up, but they are saying that I have to pay again to get new ones.

This one and most out there is the bolts only. Many aftermarket hoods might need a "custom' solution for the hood latch. This is one of them...there have been two resolutions. One is to do what Garm did which is to essentially add a spacer and the other is to drill out part of the receiver on the car. I am gonna be checking out Garm's solution because it will allow me to swap hoods when I want in 10 minutes. I don't want to leave it on during the winter months to prevent snow, ice, and scratch issues.

I got the wrong plates once "WRMSTR" instead of "WBMSTER"

I was a webmaster -- not a warmaster, LOL. Cali DMV replaced them at no charge.

You got real lucky. They finally agreed to only charge me the 20 bucks for the plates to be made instead of the full 57. I guess that is something at least.

Nicest sedan hood I've seen. Is it really vented with mesh that much? Seems a wee excessive. Looking forward to more pics, even if I'm a hatch guy. lol

I picked up the bolts today at the local hardware store. Now I am just patiently waiting to see how Garm resolved the hood latch issue. I would rather not drill the latch receiver because I don't believe that it would hold the OEM hood with it drilled. Come on Garm! Supply the picture

The two larger vents have removal panels. The intake vent doesn't.

Drilling the receiver will not affect the ability to use the OEM hood. You are drilling the bottom of a U that rotates into a C to hold the hood down. At the very worst, the hood would be able to vibrate a tiny amount (1/16") in the the receiver when latched.

Well this is good to know...I will have to decide by later on today what I am going to do then. Thanks!

I know this might be a moot point since there are only 2 of us with this hood however I figured I would post it up. I picked up 4 Metric Hex Cap Screw M6-1.00 x 20 and 4 #12 SAE 7/32" washers to mount the hood. They fit perfectly. When my body kit arrives and I have the other painting done I am having them painted to match the OEM bolts.
