Question 21 Hours on foot in LA...ideas..

Want some local input about the lesser publicized side of LA (stuff that wouldn't normally pop up on expedia trip planner)...I'm really interested in any good local music venues but want to hear about anything you guys think is fun or interesting... cool sites , gang hangouts , places to eat , skate parks , bars to crash , loitering spots , the parking deck with the most exotic cars in it ...places to see the best ladies ... you know...fun stuff.

The only restrictions I have are time (9pm Weds 8/19 to 6:30pm Thurs 8/20...yah, that's when the Amtrak arrives and leaves) and would rather not end up in handcuffs (at least for too long), but other than that, give me your best shot.

China town is near the station and Olivera St? Not too far away is Little Tokyo and down town LA. Metrolink can take to Long Beach. Long Beach, Venice and Santa Monica are more of a sidewalk town. Have fun.

Take the subway throughout Hollywood and LA then take the blue line from union station out to Long Beach! It's only 5 bucks for an all day pass and it beats driving in traffic.

^^ Perfect! Sounds like the best way to get to a lot of places and meet a lot of people in a short time...plus Union Station is where I'm hoping off the Amtrak, so that works out nicely.

^Other than riding around on the subways, this may constitute my 3am-Sunrise...at that hour it should be...interesting.

Little Tokyo is pretty fun. Check out the Artist District East of Alameda St. too. Both spots are seedy at night, Art District more so than Little Tokyo. Olvera St, China Town, Silver Lake/Echo Park are all cool too.

^Hey Rain! Sleeping isn't in the plan...I'll crash when my train picks me up the next evening....assuming I can find a bar that's open 'till 2ish...I'll spend 2-5 touring the town looking for anyplace that is still lit up. Haha, any good 24 hour diners?

Wednesday nights can be fun in L.A.

Bars-

Bar 107 on 4th is cool and could keep you occupied for awhile.

Golden Gopher

Broadway Bar

La Cita

Food-

Daikokuya is a good late night spot

Koraku is good if Dikokuya is closed

Royal Claytons is nice and is my spot for lunch and drinks with co-workers. It has really good food but is shady once night falls. There is also some cool shops around there. Vincet Gallo lives above the bar and frequents the bar. He's pretty nice for looking like an asshole.

There's tons of spots in DownTown now just cruise and you'll find something you like but once it gets late things can get cracked out.

I guess it depends on where you end up... If you're in downtown LA, there's the Original Pantry Cafe in Fig, there's also an IHOP & Denny's
