My Flip Ultra HD in car cam

Partly Sunny Vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-1IT3NxboQ
Night Vids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtYRliMz2tY
*remember to click HD*

Pretty neat i think, just needs a wide angle lens...bad. Im actually gonna go with a Creative Vado HD, cheaper with wide angle.

As one of these portable "HD" cameras are relatively cheap now, i got it not just for in car cam but for when i want to shoot some videos. Seeing all the necessary information needed for evidence in an event of car accident or cop pulls me over is right in the middle, its great! Info like, seatbelts, signals, SPEED.

I just dont see many cams mounted where i have mine, most people put them on the dashboard, but i guess they dont have cars with center mounted gauge clusters hehe.

Heres the mount i made, and it still works normal when attached to tripod base:

WOW for a cheap cam that quality is pretty damn good. I've been looking for a decent cheap cam, i'll look up the Vado one too! What did you use to mount the camera like that?

How's it at night time vs. the Creative one. I'm going to look to see if theres a comparison page

looks pretty good, but cant see the speedo at all hardly... maybe you can adjust some setting on the camera? At night the opposite might be an issue, with the brightness of the speedo making the camera not able to see out too easily. At least at night you can turn the brightness down if that's a problem, hopefully playing with the camera settings will fix the day time issue...

slick dude...play some music next time. Your car sounds hella quite...no revs or anything. Is it auto?

I can still see the speedometer after you pull out from the garage, but not so much the other indicators...

yeah course its manual. and only indicators normally on would be turn signals and i can see them just fine in the vid. I just cruise on dfco or neutral after i turn out of driveway cuz that and the adjacent street slopes down.

I got the same camera on Monday. I can't wait to take some vids. Now, I need to build a camera mount, though. My flexible tripod probably won't cut it.
