In relation to this. I have a 2010. If I wanted to put on a 2008 front bumper. Are these the parts I will need or do I need more parts like 51365A and is the 52021 the same?

08 RS? The usdm bumper didnt change between the 06-08 and 09-11 years. So you can keep your stock bar, just need those shorter brackets.

Now if you go with 09 RS, there is no modification required to the front bumper support system. everything goes right on.

You will also need the < 08 headlights, as 09+ have slightly different headlights. or if you don't mind the gap, just go ahead.

Let's keep it clear here and not get the OP confused.

OP owns a 2007 on which he will be mounting a 2006-2008 Vitz RS replica bumper. No need to be talking about '09 headlights in his thread, or at least, reference who you are responding to. I think it has come as a shock to him that he will need to be addressing the crash bar. Don't want him getting freaked out by not interpreting all posts in this thread correctly.

He does NOT need brackets to do this swap! He will NOT need new headlights! He WILL need a jdm crash bar. I did the swap back in late 2009 and know exactly what he needs.

Ilikerice- your 2010 will need headlights from a 2006-2008 to do this swap.

Is this the one?

http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Toyota.../dp/B005VVSH30

Lots of hits for part# 52021 but notice that 52021-XXXXX has multiple values for the -XXXXX portion of the part#

Well I ordered the left and right brackets. Are you saying that this wont work Astroman? Read that I need the shorter brackets to move stock crash bar in an and bumper will fit.

When I had mine done and I and the toyota body shop talked to Garm at the now defunct microimage he said the only thing I needed was the jdm crash bar as it's a different shape and doesn't stick out so far, they didn't have to touch the brackets. If someone was to replace both the crash bar and the brackets (assuming they're shorter than USDM) it would be too short. You'll have to get the crash bar for sure so you'll need to order anyway. Just keep the brackets unopened and return them if you don't need them.

Did anyone try looking up the part number for the USDM brackets to see if they're the same?

Also I think I saved the repair bill which has all the part numbers if you'd like I can check it.

The JDM is not shorter in depth or length in fact the JDM one uses extra sheetmetal sections in place of the usdm foam absorber.

Yes the brackets are shorter than usdm. I have JDM brackets and crash bar, but found out that usdm crash bar + JDM brackets works just the same, the key is the brackets.

This is assuming the replica bumper is the same as the real RS one.

So I should be on the right path with the shorter bracketsi hope. Dont know how accurate the vis is to the oem rs bumper so will just have to wait and see I guess. Gonna have body shop paint the vis bumper anyways and put it on myself. If I need a different crash bar I will find one then. No harm np foul.

Two things we are going to learn through you;

- vis Vitz RS replica bumper quality/fitment
- crash bar vs brackets dilemma

You best make sure you come back when all is said and done! What is the eta on completing this job anyway?

Astro is right, you do not need the shorter brackets.

Also, I used my stock USDM crash bar and just notched it to fit. It's snug, but it fits so I can see how the slimmer JDM crash bar would work without getting shorter brackets. Here is my RS front on with the stock USDM crash bar and brackets. BTW, the rear USDM can also be notched to fit the RS bumper. See below for both fitted.
