Dont let this problem ruin your Briggs and Stratton!

The two pictures are of my humble Diddier wood splitter and its B&S engine. See the yellow oil level check plug? There is often another on the opposite side of the engine where it isnt obvious. Chinese copies of the engine have them too. They are used in many types of equipment like snowblowers where the second yellow plug is hidden away where it cant be seen unless you remove some parts.

These plugs can vibrate loose allowing the oil to leak out and the engine blow up. Always check for a hidden one and tighten the hell out of it!

That happened to the original owner of the splitter who replaced the engine with a new one and sold it to me after it sat for five years. Im seeing reports of people with new equipment with unexplained oil leaks and thats why!
