Exclamation Redline Shift Boot for 09?

I ordered and received a new Redline shift boot for my 09 LB, but am having trouble with the install. On their instructions, it shows the OEM boot is held on by a 'friction retainer wire'. Mine is held into the plastic console piece with big staples, no wire. How am I supposed to install the new boot?

Look at my post's on leather shift boot's , one of them shows fitting it ,
use that as a guide , ie cut slots in boot to fit over the plastic legs of your retaining ring and snap back into place on consol.

Your post, while showing an awesome looking final install, doesn't really give any info as to how to modify the boot to get it to fit. Also, I just snapped the trim ring in two while trying to get the boot to fit... awesome.

Anyone have the Toyota part number for the plastic shift boot retainer so I can order about 100 more, since I'm likely to keep breaking these?

Anyone have the part number for the 09 trim ring? Or would the 07-08 fit the 09?

Oh, in the first 2 photo, just take out all the staples between the stock boot & ring, then staples again your 08 shift boot to the 09 stock ring, done

I think the 09 trim ring comes as a part of the 09 shift boot.

The part number for that is:
58808-52090-B0 - COVER SUB-ASSY, SHIFTING HOLE - DK GRAY

.. or.. it' comes as a part of the entire console.. hmm =\

I found that number too, but it looks like that might be the molded rubber boot not the leather-ish one. But who can tell by looking at that drawing?

Nah the 06-08 rubber boot number is:
58808-52060-B1 | 200508-200808 | COVER SUB-ASSY, SHIFTING HOLE | DK.GRAY, TRIM18,19

09 leather boot is:
58808-52090-B0 | 200808- | COVER SUB-ASSY, SHIFTING HOLE | DK.GRAY, TRIM1#

Yeah I just got those two different numbers from the dealer but was told they only sell the trim ring with the boot, not on its own and they want about $35, which is non-refundable if it turns out to be the wrong one.

It doesn't look like the shift boot you bought comes with a trim ring? They're only picturing the boot.

Really?! Crap! I have no idea what the 06-08 is supposed to look like so I wasn't sure. I'll see if there's any way I cancel
