AEM Cold Air Intake

just found this on ebay, can't find anything online that it's available yet, even on the AEM website it doesn't list the part number they reference in the auction.

Don't do it. There were a bunch of ebay sellers that did the same thing for my Mazdaspeed. Just stick it out until AEM releases official information.

THe ebay price is actually pretty low. I can only price match ebay which is $235 shipped.

As with any performance mod, it will only void the warranty if it is the cause of the defect. For instance, if you blow a shock, they can not blame it on your intake. However, if say you fry your MAF Sensor, then yes, they can say that the aftermarket part was the cause of the defect and thus not cover it under warranty.

This is why I'm waiting for the TRD stuff, so that, hopefully, it'll keep my warranty intact.

You have to have them install the part? That's news to me. Nissan didn't require that with my old Nismo parts.

I had a HUGE battle over a 05 Camry AND 02, 05 Tunda. If I were to do it again I would just go ahead and spend the bucks for Toyota installed. But I consider my time to be valuable enough to find the self installed savings and warranty hassle to be more costly then dealer installed filtration mods. Lots of different experiences, but anything not dealer installed is a pain. IMNSHO

Well if you spent the 350 plus install of this device and then the 350 plus install of the axleback then you could theoretically have +8-10HP which would equate to the roughly 100 bones per horse which if you installed the supercharger you would be in the same cost/HP bracket at the 100 bone per horse. No matter how you slice it you are going to pay a nice chunk of change to get more HP.

I was told that the intakes are not release yet to Master Distributors. ALthough they already have the part number specifically for the Yaris, I'm not sure where is that ebay store getting the intakes. Master distributors gets for dibs on all new intakes. That is why they only have pics of the box, not the actual intake.
