OP here. I haven't been working for three months, so I am two months behind on my car payment. TFS has been calling me. I told them I could start paying a month later because I will get a job by then. If I don't, then they will have to repo the car and I will move back to NYC or China where I don't need to drive. :-)

It's a Toyota, there's no need for the $2K bend-me-over-and-take-it-in-the-pooper extended warranty. Same deal with the gap insurance....waste.
While the GAP insurances they offer at the dealership may be over-priced, GAP insurance is definitely not a waste IMO. My 2007 just got totaled, and the GAP saved my a$$. I agree about the warranty however.

Price out the door: $12,500, $3,500 down.

Before Re-fi: $203/month for 7 years.
After: $185/month for 6 years

Credit was just barely good enough to let my bank cut me lots of slack with the interest rate. Didn't think it would go that far down, but I guess an Equifax score of 735 will allow it... Still think I got lucky, no complaints though
