Egr Block

Egr block or no egr block. Heard the block creates NOx aka nitrous.

Blocking the EGR port will possibly bring up a CEL, increase fuel consumption and cause your car to fail pollution tests.

Blocking the EGR port is most often done for diesel engines used in off road competition. On a petrol engine, you would most likely not see any performance advantage. The main reason for EGR is to reduce the production of oxides of nitrogen, whcih contribute to smog.

Nitrous oxide is introduced into the inlet manifold to cool the incoming air charge. This creates a denser charge ot air, allowing more fuel to be burnt, producing more power. Any oxides of nitrogen produced in the cylinders is not going to achieve this.

No question asked honestly should ever be considered stupid.
Ask because you don't know, and want to find out.

I have asked questions before on this forum that had simple answers, and been grateful for the replies the people have given. These have saved me a lot of time and unnecessary effort.
