I do not know the best but I really like my K&N. It claimed 4.5 hp andI did not see any specs on the others I was looking at. It was a tad pricer, I think I paid 225.

I like the combination of Simota and BLOX. The Simota fits the larger 1ZZ throttle body with just a straight silicone coupling. The dry BLOX filter is huge.

And the velocity stack makes for a really smooth turbulence free intake.

The AFe works great. I've had one for quite a while.

The big names are all pretty much equal. The biggest dilema you face will be deciding between wet or dry filters. Two equally weighted camps there, so good luck.

For the tiny bit of added performance with a wet filter, it's not worth the maintenance hassle in my opinion.

hmmm realized that most people on the forum opt for getting AFE, always wondered why.
Would consider all of them basically in the same league when it comes to gain

Does the velocity stack make a noticeable difference?

Only psychologically.

I don't think that any one small thing can make much difference, but a few small things working together can.

The average bone stock Yaris makes 91hp at the wheels. With completely stock engine internals and only simple bolt on intake and exhaust mods I was able to improve that by more than 21% with no electronic tuning and regular 87 octane pump gas. This is because mods working together make greater gains than each one can make separately.

I'm running the K&N typhoon and I love it. Works well with the trd exhaust. Tomorrow the trd rear sway bar gets installed

The TRD's fit is superb. You'll really like how it tucks up into the crossmember with nothing hanging down.
