Are all Echo's and Yaris's Made in Japan ? - Toyota Yaris Forums

I'm only curious ...are all Echo and Yaris cars made in Japan ?...i know our 2012 is but to what percentage ?, maybe some stuff made in china cripped in...?,i know in US they (dealers/manufacturers) release that info....but not in Canada

Japan for right now. In 2013 they will start importing small numbers from France.

My 2012 came off the boat from Japan.

And I have no problem with Chinese parts...

...as long as they are made to Japanese standards.

All of the 2012s (3rd Generation) shipped to North America are made in Japan. Production from France is supposed to start arriving in the U.S. sometime during the Spring of 2013. The Daihatsu Charade in Europe (through the end of the 2013 model year) is the 2nd Generation Yaris (XP90) and many (if not all) of these XP90s sold new in Europe are made in Thailand. Toyota owns a controlling interest in Daihatsu.

I think the Yaris was designed by a French guy.

So we're all screwed, where ever they make them.

Every current European Yaris is built in France, every second gen Diesel yaris has been built in France. Don't know from what year on every european second gen Yaris was built in France

in the UK we had cars as early as the Mk1 P1 D4D's being built in france, the P2 2sz-fe 1.3 and the d4d were french built!
