Adding Air Conditioning to 07 yaris

I have a base model 07 sedan yaris. I enquired with toyota about six months ago about an a/c kit (the dealer in victoria B.C.) which they were showing a part number for at the time. I didn't get it when I called but now they are saying it's not available. I have the ability to install a kit and could probably scour around to make my own but it's so much easier to just buy a kit so does anybody have any online sources which may still be able to provide a complete installation kit? Or maybe they can still get a kit for an 08 that might work for an 07? Anyone with any info is helpful (unless the info is something along the lines of "save yourself 1000$ and roll your windows down..." my wife wants a/c, she'll get a/c)

I don't know the part # for the kit (I don't even know if there is one) however I'd call some junkyards and see if you can find a scrapped Yaris for the parts. It would save quite a bit of money

Hmm so how would I go about getting that same kit here in B.C. seeing as they don't seem to be able to get it here? You'd think if they had it there in ontario that they could get it here too.

AC alternative , 12 volt swamp cooler.

There's an outfit down in Mesa Az. that sells 12 volt plug in swamp coolers, designed for use in a vehicle. As long as Victoria BC has mostly dry summers like Oregon, they work great. Prices start around $400.00 for their smallest model. Might be able to find one on Ebay for less. That's less than having AC installed in your car. You can also use it in your house with a converter. I worked as a delivery driver and the van didn't have AC ,This made a big difference . If this link doesn't work, Google swampy.net. http://www.swampy.net
