BACK UP LIGHTS PROBLEMS

Hello guys, I just notice that my BACK UP lights are not working properly, it does lights up when I put the gear on reverse, but some times turns off, is like something with the switch is loose.

Where is the switch for it?

My light of temperatura cluster also for the a/c when off some time ago, I installed a new bulb but nothing happend, si it has to be something else, please advise.

OK. The back-up light switch is located on the top of the tranny. You will need to move the battery out of the way to get at it.

To do a quick and easy test to see if it is actually the problem, you could jump the red wire in pin 3 of connector CA1 to a +12V power source. If the lights come on when you do that, then you know that either the back-up switch is bad or its connector is corroded.

Yes the lights are ok, so it's got to be the switch or the plug, where do I find them?

In about the most inconvenient location. The sensor is on top of the center of the tranny and the connector in on the back of the tranny:

Just to add. I would test the switch and connector in situ before going to the trouble of removing it. It may be a corroded connector, a broken wire, or the switch plunger may be stuck, or the switch may need adjusting. Always worth a try to save a few pence!

Hey I'm having the same problem and trying to figure this out. Both bulbs are good but the reverse lights won't come on.

What exactly is the bottom end of the arrow pointing to? I can't quite tell from the diagram. Also should this be done with the car on or off, or in accessory mode?

Thanks

Nvm, just checked and the wire is broken. Going to solder it back or something.
