Haha thanks scratch! I love the new setup, it is a big improvement, the rear end does not get loose on aggressive braking, and the vehicle is eager to change direction on command. S.drives are terrific tires in the rain. The car was very predictable, lift off oversteer was the highlight of the day. :)

That is the lap timer transponder. Clocks the laptime at the start/finish line.

Yeah, man, it really would. Maybe I should look at getting that rear sway on sooner than later...

No need, I think you should feel out the track and your car before you do decide on more modifications. The rear sway bar was a nice improvement for sure, but you'll appreciate it more when you go back out on track with it installed, and actually feel the difference.

Back to Willow Springs International Raceway!

nonvtecclub vs vtecclub

My S2K and Fit buddies first time at the track, they had a blast! and I just ruined 2 more lives lol. They are now addicted.

TRD Cup Round 1 was held at Big Willow this past Saturday. I signed the Yaris up for Limited class, since she was nowhere near as competitive as the vehicles that were registered in Street class lol.

I was excited to finally drive on this track when it's dry!

My personal best in the wet was a 2:02.9xx. My goal for the day was to be under 2 minutes. I was surprised after my first session out I clocked a 1:51. :o 10 seconds off of my wet lap. Then the goal changed to under 1:50.00. 3rd session of the day , I clocked a 1:49.559! I called it a day after that lol.

https://youtu.be/rJsLE0gWlgo

2nd session I got cocky and managed to put the passenger rear tire out into the dirt. I thought I would've been able to tap the brakes at 100mph and dive bombed into the turn lol. Now my passenger side has a bunch of rock chips, and I had to duct tape the plastic flap :( oh well, racecar!

Haha, yeah I'm not too worried about it.

The dang plastic piece is like $25 bucks from the stealership. Looks like it's going to be taped on for awhile, it's just not pretty, but who's going to notice? lol

That sounds like lots of fun. :)

What kind of tire do the regulations allow? With a sticky semi-racing you will see your time improving a lot and your chassis reaching its limits.

Then you will see the need for bracing :)

Tires will definitely drop my times, but this year, I'm trying to improve myself as a driver. Which is why I chose the Yokomama S.drives. They're 300 tread wear and not nearly as sticky as RE71Rs, or Star Specs. I wanted to be able to reach the tire's limit faster and at a much lower speed lol. I've had 200tw tires before on my previous car, and yes they are amazingly grippy, but I knew they hid alot of my mistakes as a driver.

Plus, I'm too lazy to swap wheels at the track, and needed a double duty tire for daily driving.

I would've kept the stock all seasons on, but the wheel combo was heavy, and the all seasons started chunking lol.

lol okay, third set of wheels in progress.

The Gramlights poked out too much and rubbed under certain conditions. Enough to annoy me.

Learning from my past mistakes, I picked up ONE Konig Dial-In in 15x7 +35 to test fit.

and....

they fit!

Caliper to inner barrel:

Caliper to spokes:

Soooooo much clearance!! And these weigh in around 11lbs, about 3 lbs lighter than the grammys. I'm planning to swap the Yokomamas over to the Konigs, and calling it a day.

....it's going to be a bitch to clean haha

Great looking wheels. You should just sell your old setup as a package and get on a better set of tires. I have a brand new set of RE71r if you are in the market.

I use www.rhdjapan.com and www.bidjdm.com

Same guys, different store fronts. They are expensive, but you know you're buying from a reputable source.
