Torque wrench - looking for a particular type

Ok, I have a 1/2" Husky brand (from Home Depot) torque wrench that goes from about 10-200 ft./lbs.; however, it is about 18" long and hard to get in tighter spaces where torquing nuts is still required.

I would like to get a 1/4" or 3/8" torque wrench that only goes to about 50 ft.lbs (or equivalent in/lbs), but not sure of a good U.S.A brand to get. Since this torque wrench would be used for lower torque, accuracy is more important to me.

Any advice is appreciated.
Pat

harbor freights

yea, go to harbor freight tools store and they have a really good selection of smaller torque wrenches at decent price. the 1/4 inch drive is in inch pounds ( up to 200 inch pounds) i believe, they also have a 3/8 inch drive wrench that go's from 20 foot pounds up to 80 foot pounds I believe.I bought those two last year and also have two other bigger wrenches........You can't never have enought torque...LOL They are pretty accurate when I tested them with a torque meter. I think you can also rent one at autozone or orielly's auto parts , but i think it's a pita. as much as I work on my cars I just went ahead and bought my own this way I know that somebody else didn't drop it and it's still accurate.

I seen some gizmos at amazon like this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Powerbuilt-940...5091402&sr=1-3

if you do a search@amazon, you can probably find something usable without the big tag price on the pro ones.

One of the best companys is Precision Instruments they actually manufacture all the torque wrenches for snap-on tools. Good website to buy them is tooltopia.com Also they are made in the good old US of A and not made in china.

If accuracy is important there are torque wrenches which are more accurate than snap on who give figures of + or - 4%. Sorry I am not familiar with the US market, so I cannot recommend a particular brand. For me snap on although very good quality are simply not worth the money.

Got one at H.F. for $9.99 . Doesn't work all that great . Thinking of finding one with a digital display . How accurate are those ? Would like to spend less since not used often .

Wonder if this is accurate ? A digital torque adapter that can be used with a regular socket wrench . Costs $31.00 at H.F. and could use the 20% off coupon . Go here , http://www.harborfreight.com/digital...ter-68283.html .

These are the same as Snap-On at half the price.
