Replacing my front emblem?

Hi

I have bought an original "Vitz" emblem for my front bumper instead of the Toyota logo. Do I have to take off the bumper to replace it or is there an easier way to do it? From the inside the lock and radiator is blocking for the emblem.

Regards Steven.

I just replaced mine yesterday. I found that I had to undo the top clips that hold the bumper onto the chassis, and pull the bumper outwards to reach behind to undo the clips holding the badge in place. You don't have to completely remove the bumper. =)

Hi

So you only have to take off the 3-4 clips in top of the bumper?
I tried to put my finger thru the grill and reach the clips behind the emblem, I reached the clips but couldn´t pull hard enough on the clips.

I have also bought an RS emblem, could I install that the same way or should I take of the bumper completely.

Regards Steven.

I just used a small screwdriver and a microfiber towel behind it and gently pryed the emblem out of the front housing. Worked for me, and no scratches or broken clips.

RS emblem should just clip on from the outside..

With the 2007 Yaris the RS emblem should clip in just fine. I had a hard time getting it to fit properly on my 2009 grille..

Hi

My RS emblem uses a clip that should go on the emblem from behind with two screws. I ordered an original emblem, is yours original too and which part number did you use?

Regards Steven.

Used my pinky fingers at 7 and 5 through the front of the grill. Took about 1 minute to pop it out. You push up and in real hard.It hurts your fingers A LOT, but it's better than ripping apart the car......
BTW, I'm 6ft., 212Lbs. Got thin pinkys ,I guess....

Hi

I have tried, but I can´t push hard enough on the taps behind the emblem, so I will have to wait till I get my new headlights. Then I will take off the bumper anyway.

Regards Steven.

pop the one clip in each wheel well and the bumper will hinge on the plastic trays on the bottom....you have to pull it a bit to get it out from under the headlights though...

then you can get about 16" (400mm) of space between the bumper top and the rad rail

thats how i did mine and crandalls...

So is your Yaris a 2007 or a 2009 model? My 'RS' emblem was genuine from Toyota Japan. It does not use screws, but has 4 mounting clips and a few positioning pins. Maybe there are different versions of the 'RS' emblem out there..

Hi

I ordered the pre 2008 emblem as the 2009 one looked different.
Do you remember your part number? I think mine was 52090 at the end.

Regards Steven.

I love this emblem on the front of my car-but if you live in an area where there's sand and grit on the freeway from open dump trucks be warned that the grey painted part pits pretty easy and starts to loose the finish. Guess I'll have to figure out a way to touch it up someday or replace it again.

Yeah, now we both know how easy it is to swipe Yaris emblems with no tools, LOL!

Yeah, that's if you have the factory grill which I don't have!

But most people are on YW who has one and that wouldn't be cool at all.
