Water pump belt and pulley - replaced at 36,000mi
During a routine inspection I noticed my belt was starting to wear:
So bought a replacement belt, and since the shop also recommended a change of the water pump pulley I bought that as well. Basically no dramas after that, US$50 for the parts, and $20 for half an hour of labour at the local garage fixing it up. Here's how the worn parts look closeup: Note the groove that's been worn in. This is a steel part. If you're using lightweight aluminium aftermarket pulleys do check yours regularly - this is consumable Check out the crack that is forming in the belt
