Something's wrong with my engine.
First of all, the check engine light is constantly on. And for the love of me I can't find a good place to do a diagnostic in my region.
And when I drive, when I approach a speed of like 140 kmph, the check engine light starts flashing, then I feel this resistance, like the car is slowing itself down. Prior to this, my yaris could go 170 without coughing. Oh, and it stutters when I start it in the morning. But starts fine the rest of the day. |

I had something similar to you, what I did was unhooked the battery and the system reseted it self, I had a friend scan my car and found nothing. But doin some research I found that it has to do with the throttle sensor. For the other question sounds like you'll be needing a starter soon, I hope that helped

Going at those speeds with an engine light on and the engine acting funny is a sure recipe for mechanical disaster.
You may want to get that car to a reputable garage to get it sorted or you will be one of the people Thomas Tusser was thinking about when he coined the phrase = “A fool and his money are soon parted.” |

I did take it to a so called reputable garage, the light went off, and 3 days later. Guess what, the light came right back on.

Take the car to a trusted garage (or a dealer) that can read the diagnostic codes and tell you whats going on. The fact you have a drivability issue and the check engine light is flashing indicates the need for immediate attention. As mentioned above you need to do this immediately!

MIL light on is a problem detected, MIL flashing is serious problem or recurring problem. CTScott just had a post on here recently about jumping 2 pins on the plug for the code readers and getting a morris code style number to figure out the engine code problems, maybe he can help.

I had floored it in mine one night and my light came on and flashed for about 30 seconds then stayed lit. Come to find out it was a misfire in one of my cylinders. replaced spark plugs cause they were cheap easy and fast. 1 month after that, it did it again, first time it was cylinder 4 this time was cylinder 3, guess what, bad COIL PACK. Just ordered a new one of ebay ran $16.45. I believe that to be the issue, if otherwise ill post more but maybe that will help you.
