Exhaust Idle

Not sure if i should have posted in the Maintanence section or here, its kinda a mix of questions.

Anyway does anyone else notice with their aftermarket custom exhausts that with the airconditioning it idles louder? I tested it off and the idle sound was alot queiter.

One other question, i know this is a common thing in all cars that you lose power once you turn your airconditioning on. But is it very obvious on other peoples yaris?. Feels like i lose queit abit of throttle response/acceleration compared to without the aircondition. But then again i have the 1.3L version. Might need to mod something else to increase abit of power to recover some power. Haha.

That is a pretty normal thing for it to be louder with the AC on. I also lose a lot of power when I use AC which is why I rarely use it.

Yeah it happens with the ac and with the heater. It tripped me out the first time too.

Loss of torque when you switch on the AC is normal; unless of course you have a big turbo diesel engine.

mine does too, but mostly because the RPM's oscillate. This started after my first mod, a cold air intake, but it still happens with my current set up. If you are experiencing "RPM hunting", this may be the cause of varying sound levels.
