Rotiform possibility?
I wanted to know if either of these sets of rims will rub?
I drive with 3 adult passengers daily. I dont want the wheels to protrude from the arches. Also, how big of a difference does 17 inches have on fuel economy? I get normally around 600km per tank. Rotiform BLQ 17" ET:30 CB:73.1 Rotiform BLQ Narrow & wides 17" x 7.5J Front ET:35 Rear ET: 32 |

Idk even know rotiform made anything narrower than 8". In the 8" +30 if you run a stretch like 19 5/40 you could potentially get away with no rubbing but it will be close. I just finished running 17x10 +25 and the rubbing was actually pretty subtle to non existsnt on most commutes but I have a ton of fender rolling pulling and trimming done so you may need a little yourself. Are you dropped or do you plan on dropping and what suspension? That will make a lot of difference.

You'll need to roll your fenders if you don't want any rubbing (shouldn't be that bad to begin with).
As for gas mileage, you'll definitely lose a lot in the city, but you'll pick up mpg on the freeway. With all of my 17's (that were heavier than the steel rims and tires), I get low 40's to mid 50's (sometimes touching high 50's to low 60's) on the freeway. But as soon as I drive in the city, I'll get 20's to 30's mpg. |

thanks for all the input people.
Im still stuck between two worlds because i want a neat look and if i put the 17's i wont do suspension mods, because it will look low and hence only rolling the fenders will be done. But if i go with 15's im going to have to put shortened shocks and lower springs for the same look. i need to do at least 600km per tank and am still stuck between the two options. I really like the rotiform design however they dont come in anything smaller than 17" and also they are replica's hence the 7.5J. all the advice is much appreciated! |

17's alone won't make the car look lower. It will still have that massive OEM wheel gap. I vote the same as 1.5, lower it still.

What a 17 DOES do is fill the wheel well with more wheel and less tire. A lot of people like that look -- it's a personal choice. Quote:

it's gonna rub, and definitely not the setup for you since you are going to carry multiple passengers.

Thanks for the input people, im taking all the advice i can get.
600km- i need to get at least 560-600kilometers per tank when i fill up, so fuel economy is a factor. 3 people in total travel in my lift club so 2 and a half adults lol. i want to fill the arches coz theres too much space lol if im not mistaken shortened shocks are shorter than the regular shocks and is advised when putting in lowering springs, we have monroe, gabriel and koni to name a few that offer shortened shocks here. rotiforms website does start with 18" but they also said they can custom make anything because they can lol. note im getting the replica's http://www.maxmotorsport.co.za/pR-FO...er-Silver.aspx http://www.maxmotorsport.co.za/pR-FO...er--Black.aspx http://www.maxmotorsport.co.za/pR-FO...ver--Gold.aspx another option: http://www.maxmotorsport.co.za/pROTI...des-4x100.aspx **I really want this rim if it will fit so i can anodize the centre purple like so: |

If gas mileage is a factor don't get 17's. Find the lightest wheel you like or can afford.
