Battery for my Yaris Sedan

Hi,

Could anyone suggest how many amps battery would I need to install for my Yaris sedan aka Toyota Belta. Its a japanese import with a TV/Navigation DVD screen.

I plan to install a maintenance free dry battery.

Thanks

Your biggest concern nowadays isn't CCA btw like so many places you buy talk about. With the electrical systems today you also need to look at the Amp Hours as well. I believe unless mistaken you would want one that is at least 35AH however CTScott could clarify for sure.

I've run a Braille with 21 amp/hours for two years with no problems. My system was a Kenwood HU with bluetooth, GPS and traffic nav, a JBL Grand touring amp, a 10" sub and EIGHT speakers.

The reserve @ 21a/h isn't great, but there's no problem running all that -- I just couldn't bump the stereo for an hour without starting the car up.

Check out Optima Batteries. Alot of military, and construction trucks use these. These are the only ones I will use in my cars and I think they are a superior battery to what else is out there. They cost alittle more, but last alittle longer then regular battery, and me or my friends that run these never have had any issues with these batteries.

Op, going with more amp hours won't cause any problems. If it fits in the compartment, the one you picked out should be fine.

09sedan, see how the stock battery does. If you need more check out kinetik brand batteries. Optima is overpriced imo

I also have used and recomend Optima batteries..

BTW, CCA is important if one lives in a cold climate area. However, contrary to popular belief, high ambiant temps will kill a battery (shorten their life) quicker than cold temps.

^^^^^ This. Staff members at several different auto parts chains (here in the Houston Metro) have told me the same thing re CCA and high ambient temps.
